- Cake Mix:
Dates: 220 grams (soft and pitted)
Milk: 1 1/3 cups (any type of milk can be used)
Tahini: 4 tablespoons
Vegetable Oil: 4 tablespoons
Oats: 150 grams (flour)
Baking Powder: 2 teaspoons
Cinnamon: 2 teaspoons (ground)
Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
Walnuts: 40 grams (coarsely chopped)
- Tahini and Date Sauce:
Tahini: 2 tablespoons
Date Syrup: 1 teaspoon
How to Prepare Oatmeal and Date Cake with Tahini Sauce (Diet)
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) Preheat the oven to 160°C (325°F) with a fan.
Heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to bubble, then remove from the heat before it boils.
Place the dates in a heatproof bowl, pour the hot milk over them, and let them soak for 30 minutes until softened.
Place the date and milk mixture in a blender and blend until you have a smooth, homogeneous paste.
Transfer the date mixture to a bowl, then add the tahini and oil and mix well.
Add the oat flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt, and mix until a smooth cake batter forms.
Pour the batter into a square pan lined with baking paper.
Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the top of the cake.
Bake the cake for 40-45 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool completely before slicing.
To prepare the sauce: Mix the tahini with the date syrup in a small bowl, then spread it over the cake before serving.
